The next few blog posts will be focused on exactly this. I will be sharing romantic riverside settings, beautiful rural barns and luxury venues with plenty of history. Finding your wedding venue is one of the hardest parts of wedding planning. But it is also the most rewarding- how can you start day dreaming about the day in detail without the setting!

The first type I’m sharing today are romantic riverside wedding venues.

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my stories about being by water- I love it! It is my favourite place to be; whether it’s on a lake paddle boarding, diving in the sea or a stroll along the river- being by water is pretty much always my favourite place to spend time, so I’m beginning the venue series with a water theme today!

We are honoured to be the recommended photographers at many beautiful venues around Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Surrey and Oxfordshire. We love each and every one of them for their uniqueness- we’ve discovered the secret corners, the best sunset spots, where the prettiest flowers and wildest grass grows… all the photogenic spots!

Today’s venue inspiration is all about being by the water, our top three romantic riverside venues (each of which we know well as we’re a preferred supplier) are:

Monkey Island, Bray

A stunning venue set on it’s own island. Only recently reopened, the luxury renovations make it the most stylish of settings- from the hidden whisky den for groom pictures, a floating spa for the day before treatments and beautiful views from every angle! The Great House in Sonning

We’re a regular here, yet every wedding is different. The team really care for each couple, their flexible nature is always mentioned by couples. It couldn’t be in a better location for the sunset, falling behind willow trees and a bridge, it makes a dreamy image. www.greathouseatsonning.co.uk

The Swan in Streatley

Run by the same team as above you know you’re in safe hands. Again set beside the Thames it makes a dreamy setting to go for a post wedding stroll (& pictures!). The hotel has an urban, cool vibe inside- yet is set in such a pretty location with the river and fields beside it. www.theswanatstreatley.com
