In November last year Cerys and and Danny got married! After a peaceful morning getting beautified by her talented sister, Cerys headed over to the local church- just metres from her family home – to say her vows to Danny. It is also where her sister got married, lots of precious family history on their doorstep.
They celebrated afterwards at one of our favourite family run venues, The Mill House Hotel in Swallowfield. Kym and Mark the owners such warm and caring hosts. You genuinely feel their excitement and commitment for each couple, we love being preferred photographers there.
” Thank you for the photos they are amazing! Neither of us like the camera, but we are so pleased with them. It was lovely reliving the day.”
Winter weddings can be a tricky one for photography- I often have photographers asking about the challenging lighting and weather challenges. Yet, my answer is always to embrace it. It may involve a harder search for the right space to shoot in and the right light. It may mean braving the chilly air, or huddling under an umbrella, but that is a true reflection of the season. It is romantic to huddle up together, snuggling each other extra tight to be cosy.
p.s if you’re wondering where the ceremony pics are… we had not photographed a wedding at their church before, St Michael’s in Tilehust, and we still haven’t- sadly the Vicar doesn’t allow photography inside. Always hurts my heart a bit when I hear that as the ceremony is one of the most precious parts of the day- we don’t use flash in church, we tiptoe around dressed in all black- and literally try to be discrete photography ninjas all day, our focus is on being unnoticed for natural shots!
