Engagement photos are one of the few things on your wedding checklist which doesn’t involve doing too much at all- just spending time with your favourite person being in love. Here are some tips on how we can get those gorgeous shots together showing your personalities, lots of romance and natural photos.
Be comfortable and be yourself. One casual and one glam outfit can work well to switch during the session. If you are thinking of using the images as Save the Dates, for your wedding website or as a signing frame/guest book you may want to incorporate some of your wedding colours, or at least be sure to choose something that doesn’t clash. If you are planning on wearing heels, that maybe aren’t so comfy, you may want to bring a flat option to slip on as we walk around.
If you are planning to have a make up artist for your wedding then this is the day to book your trial. Perfect timing to test if you like how it photographs and to make you feel confident for our shoot. Also don’t forget your nails- a fresh manicure will show off your ring beautifully.
The very best time to shoot is right after sunrise or before sunset in the soft golden light, so book your session just before the sun is up or maybe more realistically, a couple of hours before the sun sets.
Your wedding venue is ideal to explore together. Other sweet options are where you had your first date, your proposal or just somewhere you love hanging out together.
Why not make it more personal by including some props that suit you as a couple- blankets to get cosy under, champagne, picnic rug and strawberries, guitar, flask of hot chocolate…
Engagement sessions are a great way for us to get to know each other and for you to practice in front of the camera- get completely relaxed to be confident in front of the lens on your wedding day.
